RECOMMENDED TACTICAL FLASHLIGHTS
(For Our Low-Light and No-Light Shooting Class)
Flashlights should be capable of a minimum of 120 lumens. 320 lumens or so is better. Current models are capable of 600 lumens or more, but you do not need more than 320 lumens!!. We recommend an LED light over an incandescent one. Models with a rubber collar on the tube body to enhance the support-hand grip are highly recommended. This allows the use of a combat grip! Witthout a collar, it is difficult to use a combat grip unless you have LARGE hands.
The picture at the bottom of this page shows a flashlight with a collar for a combat grip.
You can order flashlights from us, the internet, or call around to see what is available.
When choosing a flashlight, it is our opinion that the following priority is best:
1) A collar on the tube body for a combat grip
2) A push-button switch on the end that is not recessed
3) an LED Model
4) Lumens
5) Price
Note: We DO NOT recommend lights with a strobe option due to the fact that they are often inadvertently activated under stress.
We recommend the following tactical flashlights (prices are retail; you can find them for less).
